It is time to start making your plans to attend our 54th Redcatcher Reunion that will start on May 30th, 2022, through the morning of June 3rd, 2022.
Here is some information on how to reserve your hotel rooms and register for the great events we have planned. Also, see the Reunion Registration and Event form that accompanies this notice.
Reserving Hotel Rooms:
There are TWO ways to reserve your hotel rooms.
First, you can use the following link to access the portal. (NOTE: YOU MAY HAVE TO PASTE IT IN YOUR BROWERS) Follow the prompts to reserve your room.
Second, you can call the hotel at 717-339-0020 Extension "0”. (Important to hit the "0” so you won’t get the international booking desk).
Ask for the Redcatcher block of rooms. The cost per night is $119 plus taxes & fees. Deluxe rooms are available at a higher price. Special Accessible Rooms are available. Please specify when you call. The rate applies to 3 days before and 3 days after the Reunion dates. (May 27th through June 6th). Reservations must be received before 17:00 (5:00 PM) Wednesday, April 27th, 2022, to be guaranteed. After April 27th, reservations will be on a first come first serve basis at the going rate at the time.
RV Sites Available. Tom Higgason has reserved 12 RV sites at Drummer Boy Campground located at 1300 Hanover Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325. The phone is 877-362-6736. "199th Redcatcher” is the Rally name. The cost is $77 + tax per day. Reservations must be made before March 1st, 2022. The 12 sites are on a first come first serve basis.
Registering for the Reunion and Signing Up for the Events:
There are TWO ways to register for the reunion and sign up for the events.
First, you can go the Redcatcher website (www.Redcatcher.org) login and go to the PX and click on 2022 Reunion. Follow the prompts to register and signup for the events. (Thanks to Sam Toven for putting this together) You can pay with a credit card. Confirmation will be emailed to you.
Second, you can complete the mail-in registration form that is included and send it along with your check made payable to "199th LIB Association” and mail it all to Bob Cusick, 280 Mohawk Trail, Wayne, NJ 07470. An email confirmation will be sent.
Please complete the information part of the form for you and all your family and guests so we can prepare the proper badges.

Registration and Events:
The registration fee is $10 per person over the age of 18. (Gold Star Family Members are exempt). Please let us know how many children under 18 and how many adults will be attending. The registration fee helps us defray some of the costs of the reunion, so we are not too far in the red.
Sunday, May 29th:
Although not one of our official reunion days, there will be a reception, starting at 4:00 pm, in the hospitality room, provided by the hotel, for us to meet and greet. Appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks will be served. Food and drinks are on a first come, first served basis. Please join us if you are available.
Monday, May 30th:
The hospitality room will open at 8:00 am and will remain open until around 10:00 pm. Redcatchers can check in at the registration desk and pickup their packets for their party that will include name badges, event tickets and reunion information. Be sure to check your packets to make sure the names and events are correct.
If you will have 4 or more in your party for the Banquet, please complete the group table reservation form so you can all be seated together. The forms will be at the registration table.
Opening ceremonies will begin around 4:00 pm in the hospitality room. This will include welcome and opening statements by the President and other officers. Reunion event reminders will be discussed. This will be followed by an Invocation from our Chaplain and prayers for all Redcatchers.
Following the Invocation there will begin our Memorial Service and Roll Call for our 746 Redcatcher Brothers who fell in battle. During the Roll Call, Gold Star Families will be invited to honor their loved one as a member of our Redcatcher Family.
Following the memorial service, pizza will be served to those attending.
Tuesday, May 31st:
The hospitality room will be open from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. Registration will be open at 8:00 am.
This is the day when we have scheduled EIGHT Guided Tours of the Gettysburg Battlefield. In the morning, there will be two buses (47 passengers each) that will board Groups 1 and 2 at the hotel at 8:30 am and depart at 8:45 am for the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitors Center. You will have about TWO hours to tour the Visitors Center, including the film and Cyclorama presentations. Two buses will immediately return to the hotel, board Groups 3 and 4 and take a two-hour guided battlefield tour ending at the Visitor Center. There, Groups 3 and 4 will have two hours in the Center and Groups 1 and 2 will board the buses for the tour of the battlefield and return to the hotel. After dropping off Groups 1 and 2 at the hotel, the buses will return to the Visitor Center to retrieve Groups 3 and 4 and return to the hotel. Everyone should be back at the hotel by about 12:30 pm.
The same schedule will apply for tours in the afternoon, beginning with Groups 5 and 6 departing the hotel at 2:00 pm and Groups 7 and 8 departing the hotel upon return of the buses from the Visitor Center. All groups should be back at the hotel by about 6:45 pm.

Wednesday, June 1st:
This is a very special bus tour that will take us to Arlington, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Fort Myer (Joint Base Myer – Henderson Hall). We plan to leave the hotel in convoy, by 9:30 am and return around 10:30 pm. Included in the cost is a box lunch of your choice that will serve as the first meal break. The second meal break will be around 4:30 pm at a local food court.
First stop is Arlington National Cemetery where we should arrive around 11:30 am. There are several ways to tour the cemetery and the gravesites of Redcatchers who repose there. Information is available in the visitor’s center. 1) Walking tours for those able to do so. 2) Pre-paid Trolly Car service is available. Seating is limited and on a first come first served basis. You will be able to buy tickets for this at the Registration table starting on Monday morning. The price is unknown at this time but will be posted when the registration table is open. 3) You can use the public trollies that operate on a hop-on, hop-off basis at various points around the cemetery. You can buy tickets when you get to Arlington. We will leave Arlington at 2:00 pm (sharp).
Our Second stop will be the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall (VVMW). We will arrive around 02:15 pm. You will be able to trace the names of our Redcatcher brothers and participate in the brief dedication we will have at the Apex. You can also visit nearby monuments. We will leave the VVMW at 4:15 pm. (sharp).
Our Third stop will be a meal break where we will go to a large food court located in the nearby shopping mall where you can eat what you want, use the restrooms, and get ready for our last stop. We will arrive there at 4:30 pm and will leave at 6:00 pm (sharp).
Our Fourth and last stop will be at Fort Myer (Joint Base Myer – Henderson Hall). We will arrive at 6:15 pm to partake in the performance of the "Twilight Tattoo” put on by the 3rd Infantry (Old Guard). The parade will commence at 7:00 pm. The 2nd Battalion 3rd Infantry was one of the Battalions that formed the 199th Infantry Brigade and there are many "Old Guard” Redcatchers. We will depart Fort Myer at 8:00 pm and arrive back at the hotel around 10:30 pm.

Thursday June 2nd:
The hospitality room will open at 08:00 (08:00 am).
We will conduct our annual Business Meeting starting at 9:00 am. During which we will elect new officers and directors and select future reunion venues and conduct all other necessary business. The meeting is open to all Redcatchers. A separate agenda will be posted prior to the meeting.
Our annual Banquet will begin at 4:00 pm with Cocktails being served at the No-host bar. Banquet seating will begin at 5:00 pm at assigned tables. The cost of the banquet is $40.00 per person over the age of three (3). Gold Star Families are free of charge. There will be a separate agenda furnished for this event.
